The Story:
Named for the legendary explorer Cabeza de Vaca, or for the many cows that inhabit the area, the Lavaca River swells wide after the Navidad River joins it south of old Texana. Although the towns of Texana and Red Bluff disappeared, the old stories haunt the vineyard bluffs overlooking the river.
This hardy Lenoir grape has its New World Texas roots deep in the history of colonists and pioneers who settled along the Gulf Coast and the Lavaca River. This robust wine honors Texas legends and Texas steak.
