The Story:
Legend has it that shipwrecked Spanish sailors saw a mirage of three palaces and named the bay Tres Palacios, Spanish for three palaces. Originally named for the bay, the town may have actually been named after Jose Felix Trespalacios. Land purchased in 1901 from colorful cattle baron Shanghai Pierce soon saw the landmark Hotel Palacios (Luther), a recreational pavilion, thriving agriculture and seafood industries, and now the La Petite Belle. This golden Blanc du Bois dessert wine honors this Texas port and its traditions.
