The Story:
Once a busy inland port and county seat for Jackson County, Texana now lends its name to the lake formed by Palmetto Bend Dam on the Navidad River. This early settlement hosted a rich Texas history from its founding in the 1830's. When locals rejected the railroad line in the 1880's, Edna developed and Texana disappeared. The church survived as an iconic landmark.
From its beginning as the Alabama settlement and as Santa Anna, Texana's strong, resourceful women used fruits nurtured by the land. Today, local pears produce this light, refreshing wine.
